The Observatory on Smart Roads of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport adopted on May 13th the checklist document that allows concessionaires and sector operators to verify the project’s compliance with the technical specifications and characteristics required for the MIT’s Smart Road ‘certification.’

In detail, the document is aimed at analyzing the infrastructures and technological systems of the road manager or concessionaire to verify their compliance with the specifications of the DM of February 28, 2018 (see the news of April 23, 2018).

It is, therefore, a self-assessment guide that allows managers/concessionaires to identify deficiencies in road infrastructures within the scope of the Smart Road solutions’ road testing to address them, with the aim of ensuring the technological upgrade of the national road network in accordance with European and international objectives for the digitization of road infrastructures, respecting the deadline for the modernization of the infrastructure system set for 2025.
