The City Council of Bolzano has adopted the update of the General Urban Traffic Plan. Now the Plan will be published for 30 days to give citizens, associations, and entities the opportunity to submit their observations.

The update of the General Urban Traffic Plan (PGTU), drafted in coherence with the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PUMS), is configured as the Implementing Plan for the period 2025 – 2028 of the latter. Plan documents are available on the municipal website at this link.

The PGTU is the “preliminary project or framework plan of the Urban Traffic Plan (PUT), relating to the entire inhabited area and indicating both the adopted intermodal policy and the functional qualification of the individual elements of the main road network and any elements of the local road network intended exclusively for pedestrians (functional classification of the road network), as well as the respective road regulation, including public land occupations (…), both the preliminary sizing of the planned interventions in any alternative proposal, and their general execution program (priority of intervention for the execution of the PGTU).”

The PGTU also serves as a tool for the progressive implementation of a short-medium term (5 years) scenario for the reorganization and infrastructure development of the urban mobility system, which is generally included in a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
