The goal of TPScuolabus is to simplify and digitize the quality control process for school transport services, allowing surveyors to complete verification forms directly from a tablet. The app ensures accuracy, completeness, and immediacy through the ability to capture photos and signatures and automatically generate PDF and CSV files ready for archiving and sharing.
TPScuolabus is an Android tablet application designed to optimize surveying and quality control activities for school transport services.
While developed ad-hoc for a service entrusted to us by RSM, the application is nonetheless designed for versatile use in similar contexts and is easily customizable according to a client’s specific quality control needs.
Through a simple and intuitive interface, the app guides the operator in filling out data organized into thematic sections. To ensure the completeness of the form, we included numerous constraints on mandatory fields, with automatic checks to reduce errors and oversights.
A standout feature is the inclusion of multimedia content: the app allows operators to take standardized photos (e.g., badge, lift/ramp, logo) and add up to four extra photos, all of which are automatically embedded in the final PDF. The digital signature of the driver or responsible party is captured and placed in a dedicated area.
Upon completion, the app automatically generates a comprehensive and customized PDF—complete with the service date, batch number, and route, along with photos and captions—as well as a CSV file containing the data, saving everything in an organized structure.
TPScuolabus has introduced an innovative approach to quality control for school transport services, ensuring both speed and precision. Thanks to digitization, surveyors no longer have to fill out paper forms or manually manage archiving: the app produces standardized, instantly available documents.
The system for managing images and signatures provides immediate visual confirmation of the checks, significantly increasing the quality and reliability of controls. Furthermore, the export in PDF and CSV formats allows the data to be easily integrated into monitoring and analysis processes, reducing processing time and costs. With TPScuolabus, data collection becomes simpler, more organized, and secure, ultimately improving the planning and effectiveness of control campaigns.
