Counting of boarding/alighting passengers

These are counts of the number of people boarding and alighting from public transport (buses, trams, subways…) to reconstruct the use of public transport through direct observation of the occupancy of the vehicles.

O/D interviews

These are interviews with passengers about the Origin and/or Destination of their journey. They can be conducted both on board buses and on the ground at bus terminals, stops, train stations, ports, airports, or other points of interest (such as hospitals, important squares, city gates, main traffic generation hubs…). The data collected is then appropriately used to calibrate the public transport movement matrix. To administer the interview questionnaires, we develop specific applications to reduce both the interview time and the margin of error in implementation.
